Thanks, Travis. Dianne removed the old linoleum floor tiles and painted the floor, I only did the base shoe. It's temporary ... she's still looking at various options for the permanent flooring (you know how them wemem-folk are) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

As for the banana, I just happened to pick up a can of this while shopping for house paint at Homie Depot. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at all the rattle cans they had. It was either this, or flat black (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

We'll see how well it holds up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) ... If I need to redo it, R&R a muffler is one of the easier things to do on these cars.

That looks good, though. I'll have to show that to her. We do have a shitload of pennies we could throw at it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

EDIT:

She likes the idea. A penny for your thoughts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

...

So, later that same day, I removed my Triad ...

Big reduction of exhaust noise and a nicer tone realized ... also, noticed better performance. I still need to perform another jetting session, but I'm happy with the results so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Today, I replaced the damaged deck lid and RR fender on Dianne's latest acquisition (the 'Tomater').

I need to drop the stock motor to replace the leaking rear crank seal, a stop-gap measure until I can fabricate the sheet metal needed for the 912 motor transplant.

Sorry Kevin - I forgot to snap some pix of the bumpers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

I removed all of the junk that was sitting on top of the car and replaced the burned out bulbs in the garage lights. It's not much but it's a start. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Installed these bad boys to complete a better handling teener. KYBs on 100lb springs just doesn't cut it.

Took my 914 to my trusty mechanic in town to have the valves adjusted. Wow! What a difference after I got it back! I don't mine paying someone who does it right! Thanks Ricky!

I even made him a feeler gauge adjustment tool. The 1.7 adjustment uses the same gauge for intake and exhaust. He said it made his job easier.

I drew up and cut an engine mount adapter so I can redo my heads.

Figured out that my AAR was stuck open causing the high idle condition after warm-up. I have now started driving her to work every day this week. Makes the hour long ride so much more enjoyable...

Now I get to stare at my 914 all day from my desk at work.

1. Shipped the Triad to TC.

2. Found a stock single outlet rear valance in my stash.

3. Also ran across a set of fiberglass rocker panels that Irv (914coop) sent me a few months ago. (thanks again Irv) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Need to see if the valance needs any work before painting it, but ...

4. Sanded one of the rockers so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

WELL Today is my birthday, so i decided i would LOVe to take a nice stroll around town in the teener, pickup some birthday beers, stop by the bank, and so on. I rolled up my windows and locked the doors when i went into the store for the booze and when i came back tried unlocking the doors.... I now know that when the PO had the ignition switch swapped, the doors were not re-keyed to match, so i was locked out of my car!! FUCK, shit. I was really trying to wiggle the key while prying on the handle, and snapped the damn handle off (passenger side), great. the drivers side window was open enough for me to un-latch the top so i could reach my hand down and unlock the door. wonderful. I did get this awesome porsche birthday card from my girlfriend though...

You're lucky ... you can unbolt the broken assembly and bolt on a new replacement.

I snapped the key off in the door lock on my Tacoma this morning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) For some strange reason, I don't think it's going to be an easy fix (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)
