Scraped out some last chunks of asphalt, drilled out the spot-welds for the seat hinge brackets, removed those brackets, wire brushed out the rest from the passenger floorboard and off the firewall. Getting ready for rust remediation and paint.

Installed stainless steel fuel lines from Tangerine Racing. Very nice product! Was a little scary to pull out the old lines to fined that they had been partly replaced with rubber hose. Not only was 40 year old plastic used to clamp on rubber hose, but the hose was not even fuel hose.

Well at least my car has been on jack stands more than the road so the inevitable fire did not happen while I was driving. With the SS lines that problem is solved.

Drove it down to New Almaden on some cool roads to meet up with a fellow member. Got spotted by matthepcat on my way there... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Hi Matt!

Got a check engine light and the car was over boosting, cutting fuel. I think I have a bad wastegate solenoid... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Bled the brakes then washed the white car. Drove the Bumblebee around the back roads for a while to keep everything working. Added Brumos decals to make the white car go faster.

Installed the EBL piggyback board in the '7747 and got about half done on the GM<->JimStim wiring. Marked up the EBL wiring diagrams for the transplant.

Cleaned up the wiring for the Painless F5 fan controller; just need to terminate the new 4ga power run under the dashboard and find a 3/4 to 3/8 NPT adapter for the sensor. Maybe then the lights won't dim when the fans spin up...

Spreadsheet work this evening planning out bulkhead connectors (4x22-pin weather pack, 2 front, 2 rear) with tequila and the better half on the sofa.

Bob, you might want to slide a piece of heat-shrink tubing (or other thin wall rubber tubing) over that tab so it doesn't wear a hole in the aluminum fuel line over time.

Took mine for a 45 minute run from Shrewsbury to Stewartstown to Red Lion to Glen Rock returned to home. Hadn't run it in two months due to weather and snow. Also it's in the garage with no paved driveway about 300' off the road. Had to wait for the snow to melt then for the soft ground to refreeze so I could get it out. Tomorrow another big snow in the forcast so today was the time to go. Also ran the 69 Chevy Truck to get both up to full temperature and driven for several miles in order to heat up, pump engine oil, tranny, and rear. Good for them not to sit too long.

All's good.

Too cold today to go bicycling because I am nursing a sore throat. So I drove the 914 to the gym for cardio workout. Stopped and got a small ice cream cone afterward. Rain tomorrow.

Beat up the cars today chasing down other Porsches on the annual New Years Day drive. Porsche of Livermore catered breakfast for 150 drivers and guest. Huge turn out and great road conditions. Drove the crap out of the cars. Kathy was able to keep up with all the six cylinder cars by staying off the brakes and driving thru the corners.

Drivers meeting.

Wow, great turn out. Cars are looking good Michael, glad to see you got Kathy to take hers out of the garage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

Got a late start, but I got the valves adjusted, the tranny and exhaust bolted up, and the engine back in the white car. Still need to hook everything up, should have time to finish it up this weekend. Be nice to go for a drive again.

Installed a Weblink throttle return spring in hopes to finally get enough tension to close the slave carb all the way with the Tangerine kit. It worked! Adjusted the valves, re-timed it, synched the carbs, threw in some 110 fuel and took it around the block. What a difference! Pics to follow soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
