I took on a 930 turbo today... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

I took the car out for a nice drive down the coast and a pretty black 930 wanted to play. Clearly I have better power to weight than him. Maybe a little more hp too.

It was fun but he could not keep up until I got yelled at by my wife to slow down... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

did a number of things this last week.

pulled the rt carb to add the adaptor for the combo oil pressure sender (light and PSI) and CHT sensor. then learned how important it is to make sure you have NO air leaks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Thought I had a bunch of birds in there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)
Attached Image oil pressure
Attached Image CHT

pulled and cleaned the plugs as they don't seem to be available locally. ordered 2 sets.

adjusted the timing the best I could figure, then took it for a drive and tweaked it until it didn't ping when getting it in 4th.

installed the center console, made a 5 gauge holder, (actually made 2 but didn't like the layout of the first one). also had to make the bottom as I didn't have one. Will have to remake as the "cup holder" I tried to put in just isn't right. Will eventually cover the pieces , this is just a test right now.
Attached Image I had taken a picture going down the road but it was just a little fuzzy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

I then drove it 650 miles from Baltimore, Md to Clarksville, Ga. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Found out that when going up the mountain I might have to drop all the way down to 3rd. But it did good.

Oil pressure ranged from 40 to 60 psi, oil temp 190 to 230 and CHT averaged about 340 and went up when climbing the "hills". I have the CHT set to start flashing at 370 and never allowed it to go past 390. Even then not for very long, that was when I figured out I might have to go all the way down to 3rd.

I wish my report was more positive but it seems this is where I live lately (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
Every Vehicle I own is broken or has some issue.
In an effort FINALLY get some closure with the LE and its resto I tackled its punch list.
Top of the list F*cking BUCKING!
2nd Gauge & instrument lighting inop
3rd clutch adj.
Down from there: re- nut & bolt, rattles, carpet ect ect.

First up was check Fuel pressure which checked out at 38psi

went for a nice long ride on this beautiful day. Stoped at a freinds house and filled the car with junk from him cleaning out his garage. Then decided to try and make a door top corner piece out of steel since im missing one. Go it 90% done and then the wire wheel on my bench grinder decided to make it disapear. Finally found it after cleaning up. But ill finish that up on the next nice day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Got the engine and tranny in the car today, tight fit. Loaded the car on the trailer....going to McMarks in the morning for him to finish. Starting a big job Thursday.....no more time to play...time to get R done.

Just fuel lines, oil lines, some electrical and a few minor items, shouldn't take Mark long, might be driving it by next week. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Got the car running last week for the first time since dropping the engine & transmission for rebuilding. The transmission, as a result of Dr Evil's clinic in Sonoma, is like new. The engine, a 2056 rebuild, is thru it's cam break-in.

Yesterday I started the conversion from dual Weber 40IDF carbs to Megasquirt fuel injection and ignition. Fabricated mounting plates for the LS2 coils and completed the engine bay portion of the ignition wiring harness.

All connections are crimped, then soldered and finally covered with heat shrink tubing. I hope to have the first start under MS3 by the end of the week.

AWESOME video. It is always great to get 'em running after hibernation! Careful with all that tire spinning so close to the house. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

Paid for a windshield from Pro Source Glass International. Paid for it via Pay Pal $195 at 2:10 PM. At 4pm, Pacific time, a lady from the company (East coast) contacted me and said I could pick it up on Thursday, 48hrs later, because the one that was already in the San Francisco warehouse was scratched. I was in the neighborhood and checked on the status of the glass and it was ready basically collected it 26 hours after payment. I'll post a sequence of installation pics soon. The model number for the glass is FW235. I got the one without the dark band.

Checked to make sure there wasn't another parking ticket on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

I'll drive it tomorrow morning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ... well, it's after midnight, so I mean later today ...

Went to the shop, packaged up and shipped a set of carbs off to Denis (fongbros) in Maryland, and started tinkering with a 2.7L (6) motor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If I decide not to sell it, maybe I'll stuff it in my '67 911 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)
