Well, since it sounded rough, I checked all my valve lash, #1 was a little tight. fixed my oil drip, got to remember to tighten up the oil filter! updated my megasquirt to tuner studio, got the idle better after more adjustment of the twin throttle bodies...I just had to go up the street!

WOW!....this thing pulls like nothing I have ever ridden in. Really feels like a high power kart....just lights up the tires when I hit the gas. Almost instant redline...I will have to get it on a Dyno soon...less than 2k pounds, with I hope somewhere around 150+ of tourques.....can you see my grin? after 7 years, its alive!
note to self, drain gas before storage....what a mess, good thing I had another tank. All hoses were plugged..

It is running rough, sounds like 3 cylinders....burns rubber though...all is good..

AWESOME video. It is always great to get 'em running after hibernation! Careful with all that tire spinning so close to the house. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif)

Removed the crap that was collecting on the rear deck and cleaned it
while I enjoyed my morning coffee and stared at it for awhile as I smoked a cigarette.

Day dreamed about wide flares showing up for sale for a really good deal...and glass hood and trunk...and my 8 into 1 merge collector that will feed the intercooled turbo into my high revin 283...what you think about you bring about

Finished fitting the GT front oil cooler duct and bottom piece in the front trunk. That's ready for paint.

Removed the never used Boxster monobloc brake setup and 24mm Zimmerman rotors from the front suspension.

I am going to go to 911S aluminum calipers and 914-6 GT calipers in the rear. I want to revert back to the factory 914 e-brake setup. (Yes, I know I can convert the trailing arms to the 911 e-brake setup, but the rear trailing arms are already powdercoated and assembled with bearings).

The full Boxster brake setup will be available for sale soon (front and rear).

Did more wiring for the MS3 installation. Completed the MS3 subsystem which includes the MS3 ecu, a fuse panel, relays and terminal strips. This is mounted in the rear trunk above the jack. Two 22 pin Weather Pack bulkhead connectors transfer the wiring from the trunk to the engine bay and beyond. An additional 4 pin Weather Pack connector is used for the live +12v from the battery and the switched +12v from the 914 relay board. And, yes, there is clearance for the top to fit in the trunk.

Tomorrow more wiring. There will be 42 wires connected through the Weather Pack bulkhead connectors, times 2 for the plug on tie other end. This is a little tedious. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
Late tomorrow or Saturday the carbs will be replaced be the stock 914 plenum and runners and a 944 throttle body. With a little luck I should be able to start it on Sunday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Received the new 400 lb capacity shipping scale and weighed the crate motor that I'll be shipping to Denis (fongbros). Came out to be 250.3 lbs total, so hopefully Denis can get a better quote from his shipper now.

Installed a flywheel from a spare '69 911 motor and a T4 bus bell housing, but couldn't find my compression test gauge or my spare 911 starter motor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Also, sorted through and packed up some parts to take to the G&R this Sunday ...

Completed the wiring from the MS3 to the Weather Pack bulkhead connectors. Out of 44 wires between the two connectors I only have two spares. Plus there 3 additional wires for the +12v connections for a total 45 connections between the MS3 controller and the rest of the car!

Attached Image

Tomorrow will be wiring the sensors, etc. in the engine bay, completing the fabrication of the TPS on the 944 throttle body and begin installing the plenum and intake runners.

Scrubbed down the 'BB' real well this afternoon... then it rained in the late evening (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Oh well, the rain water gave it a good 'deionized' rinse (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Brian (bcheney) came over today and we talked 914 stuff for a few hours.

Saw his nice 914 conversion. We are like 470 serial numbers away in 1975.

He media blasted some parts, he gave me some ideas on some things to look out for in the conversion!

We probably could have chatted all day!

Next time, he owes me a ride, though...

Took her for a drive, hasn't been out much since I got the 944. Almost time to put her into hibernation for the summer.
