QUOTE(colingreene @ Sep 7 2014, 11:55 PM) *

Scrubbed the bottom of the car with a wire brush and a shop vac.
Replaced the rear soft lines.
Pulled my fuel tank, found it full of goo. and 8 gallons of 14 year old gas.

Only found about 4 gallons in mine. I had no idea gas could turn that color (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)

Original plan was to burn it in the lawn mower, but even my crappy lawn mower deserves better...

Went to Supercar Sunday yesterday. Some dude with a VW bus t shirt on asked if I was selling my car.

Does anyone with a 914 (other than something rare) ever say No to this question?

So he asks me how much and I pull a number out of the air; upper atmosphere...13

He says "oh, no, more like 10"....really 10? I think I would be happy with 10. Is he low balling at 10?

So I looked a little put off and he gave me his card. Says give him first shot when I decide to sell. He needs to take a closer look at the rust spots and drive it.

hmmmm..........10k......I could buy.......?

Thought I had the carbs somewhat dialed in, started driving to Marks shop this morning, it started running crappy again. Ended up limping it back home, runs good at high RPM, but really stumbling at lower. Guess my RRC trip ain't going to happen, but with the time off I guess I'll get my 2.7 tore down and in the machine shop.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Took a quick peek at 105mph, today while passing on a two lane. Damn it happens fast. I need to program my speedo to set 100 as the hi limit until I get all 4 wheels aligned and balanced by Manny the Man. Slits turned me on to this guy and he is the real deal. If you live in SoCal it's worth the drive to Riverside to see him!

Cut to the chase and tell him $11,500. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Got a new Optima 34R for my LE- $215 @ FLAPS or $168 shipped to my door. I think they're too expensive, weigh nearly 40 lbs., don't quite fit right unless you know how to fit them, but they are DRY. No chance for acid boil/spill over or rain mix damage with a dry cell.
Shaved the lips/edges on both sides of the battery using a single end/handle hack saw so it fits the tray perfectly & put it on a charger for 2hrs @ 6 volts high... nice steady, slow charge. I'll be pulling the battery for the winter & storing it inside- this past winter was a killer & I think my previous Optima might have froze, but I did get 8 yrs. out of it.
Now to adjust the valves & see about repacking my 1/2 shafts.

Received my COA from Porsche UK and took delivery of a late style Überdruckventiel for my GT project! Ok, not an early adjustable one but it will certainly do for now. I love ebay.de (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Was not expecting Metalic Green or some of the options as it's currently Yellow and does not have any of them fitted now - long story for another day

Well I thought I'd share a simple "tip" on how to dress up a 914 exhaust (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks Dave and Triad West

Bummer! well i have been looking for one of these for quite some time- well two, but when Dave from Triad west came posted not toolong ago that he had sourced some that fit the triad mufflers perfectly i was quite excited! He trimmed them down to my desired length, they are about 1" longer than the existing pipes. and the price cant be beat!

Removed the defective brake light switch from the pedal cluster (wondered why my brake lights were on) then chased down a CEL. Felt stupid at the end. I went thru all the diagnostics re: P0031 when I should have just checked the 02 sensor for continuity to begin with. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif)
