I now am part of the Torsion trunk spring club. Mounted the springs and trunk. I would show pictures but. You would laugh. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

Please do ... some of us could use a laugh (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

'Something' kept draining the 'BB's battery and I had a sneaky suspicion to what it was. I traced it down to the HAM radio I installed several months ago. Apparently it draws a constant 1 Amp of current even though the radio is OFF (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ... Sitting for a couple of days takes a lot out of the battery.

I bought a 20 Amp toggle switch this morning - need to install it under the dash along with a bright LED so I remember to switch it off (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

ok here are some photos although not as fast as the one above
Trunk hinges were replaced 10 years ago and I'm just now getting around to the resetting of the torsion springs. Dave I'm sure I will be ordering a set of rollers in the VERY near future. 8-) Attached Image

I finally finished the front trunk!!
1. Moved 3.2 fuel pump back to stock 75 location
2. Added 911 3.2 charcoal canister and related components to PMS Fuel Cell. The 3.2 charcoal canister is located in right rear GT Fender. Hopefully this will get rid of the fuel smell.
3. Added Stereo Amplifier.
4. Replaced steering coupler. It didn't look too bad, but I don't trust any rubber on the car that is original. The steering does feels a little tighter.
5. Fixed front trunk latch. It opens night and day better. I reran the cable and used silicon lube. It used to be harder than hell to pull the release under the dash.

Washed my roller that has been sitting outside covered. Made room for it in my garage for winter. Still deciding what exactly I am going to do with it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Spin a bearing on the 914-6 race car a couple weeks ago at Road America. Got around to pulling the engine tonight.

If anybody's interested, I have three (3) rare period-correct 23-channel Blaupunkt CB radios. I only need to keep one, so two are available. I'll post some pix when I get a chance to go by the shop again.

This is what they look like (this one's not mine)

I replaced a rubber targa top holder in the trunk, hooked up the heater blower, and took off the front latches from the top to remove some rust, paint, and adjust so they'll stop coming unlatched.

After driving the garage queen 800 miles to & from Okteenerfest, she broke down right in front of her own garage door (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)
Was talking w/ "Dr. Phil" this morning & he suggested it was the fuel pump relay. Was not sure which one it was, so I went to my Pop's vintage collection of spare VW/Porsche relays, a bucket full, & looked for the one he had the most spares of. Found the old man had four, 2 still new in the box. Had the battery disconnected anyway, pulled the cover off & pulled out the old relay & popped in the new one. Reconnected the battery & started right up like she was still warm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Got my 2.7 rebuild going today, took all my parts to Ron at IPB Autosport, he's helping me with my rebuild. He's going to check everything out then ship it off to his machinist.
This will be my first Porsche 6 rebuild so I'm happy to have all of Rons years of experience helping me out ......for a small fee of course (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Can't wait to get this motor rebuilt and back in the car, hopefully I won't need to pull it again for years.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Had some time on Sunday, so I ran out to the shop. Decided I wanted the fresh air blower to work the way it's supposed to. And the lights too.
Much easier when I already have the gas tank out.

First came the blower.

Super In Law will tear down the fan motor itself. He'll get both bearings lubed for the next 50 years.

Oh yeah. The project started because it wouldn't run on high speed. At the motor end. Fan always has 12 volts key on. Each switch sends a ground signal to a different motor setting. The high speed setting was sending nothing. So I sprayed the switch contacts with De-Oxit and it started working. But I didn't think it was going to be a 50 year fix.
So we'll take out the controls and give them a once over.

I received a pair of rear calipers from PMB. Thanks Eric!

They're looking beautiful! So I just put them on the dining table and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) with them.

Now to the controls ...............

Decided to give the switch lever a run thru the bead blaster to remove the rust and bring the copper contacts back to life.

Without the correct rivets, tearing it down any further is out of the question. I guess we'll go with primer and some gold rustoleum.

Ugh, I need to do this too. Fresh air blower has never worked, although I got it to smoke the other day when I cleaned out the contacts on the controls real well. Debating whether I pull the fuel tank and go for it, as the car is on jackstands anyway right now. You may have inspired (or shamed) me. I don't think I have the stomach for dealing with the controls just yet though...

Nice work!
