QUOTE(ndfrigi @ Nov 12 2014, 03:26 PM) *

Last week removed the engine from 72 1.7 megasquirt and this morning i was able to remove the passenger side rear suspension and cleaned for removal of broken suspension console. Next week start installing the new console. And drove the 75 1.8 for some errands this morning with a nice weather here in Orange county.

We have exactly the same cars! I have a 72 1.7 & a 75 1.8!

Went to my good friends shop after work today to drop a pedal board off for him to copy for another customers car. Met the the owner of signal orange teener that Dave is building up. Car is more or less finished now & engine is just about to be built - collectively decided she will be getting a 2.5 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Oh and sat in the 935 K3!

Last Wednesday cleared the rear suspension console area for removal and it was done yesterday with the help of a very nice and humble 914 member (retired coast guard).

Rebuilt and polished up the distributor. The polished look makes it work better (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Drained the old gas and pulled off the clogged fuel filter.

Next up: new fuel filter, injector seals, fuel lines from tunnel rearward, adjust valves, dwell @ timing.

After that - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ??? Who knows?

Well, still waiting for the Odyssey battery I ordered for the 'BB' to be delivered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) - was hoping it would show up today, because I dropped the Vanagon off at Automeister this morning.

I spent a couple of hours checking things out at Randy's shop and was happy to find out that Randy can re-tumble the rear hatch lock to match the door/ignition key (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I didn't want to keep the guys from making real $, so I removed the rear panel and lock mechanism.

Anxious to drive the 'BB' again, it's been a few months since I parked it and removed the old battery ... kind of miss her :teary eyed smiley: ... she's much quicker than the Vanagon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Oh yeah, I ordered a new chromie tip for the banana muffler from Parts Haven ... just need to remember to run a couple of short sheet-metal screws through it (with a little red loc-tite) to help hold it in place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Had a day off work today ( I refuse to work on my birthday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) so finally got to do some things I wanted to do , instead of chores and ferrying kids around ).

Made up the backing plate and installed onto the dash.
To not ruin anything, I used a super strong outdoor grade 3M Velcro dor all the attachments.

The allen head nuts have been cut down in length ad epoxied onto the propeller plate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Have a great weekend everyone !!
Dale
