Car is more or less finished now & engine is just about to be built - collectively decided she will be getting a 2.5 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Drained the old gas and pulled off the clogged fuel filter.
Next up: new fuel filter, injector seals, fuel lines from tunnel rearward, adjust valves, dwell @ timing. After that - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) ??? Who knows? |

Well, still waiting for the Odyssey battery I ordered for the 'BB' to be delivered (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) - was hoping it would show up today, because I dropped the Vanagon off at Automeister this morning.
I spent a couple of hours checking things out at Randy's shop and was happy to find out that Randy can re-tumble the rear hatch lock to match the door/ignition key (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I didn't want to keep the guys from making real $, so I removed the rear panel and lock mechanism. Anxious to drive the 'BB' again, it's been a few months since I parked it and removed the old battery ... kind of miss her :teary eyed smiley: ... she's much quicker than the Vanagon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Oh yeah, I ordered a new chromie tip for the banana muffler from Parts Haven ... just need to remember to run a couple of short sheet-metal screws through it (with a little red loc-tite) to help hold it in place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

Had a day off work today ( I refuse to work on my birthday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) so finally got to do some things I wanted to do , instead of chores and ferrying kids around ).
Made up the backing plate and installed onto the dash. To not ruin anything, I used a super strong outdoor grade 3M Velcro dor all the attachments. The allen head nuts have been cut down in length ad epoxied onto the propeller plate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Have a great weekend everyone !! Dale Attached thumbnail(s) |
