^^^^ So, I spend my hard-earned cash to finally buy some "proper" mirrors due to all the bitching, and now this????

Yesterday I was in a bicycle shop and saw some bicycle mirrors that I think may work well.

Moved into position... Was thinking about cutting the cage out of the Olympic Blue and install in the Diamond Silver... Now considering repairing the OB tub for the race car and hot rodding the DS for street. Hmmmm... Too many projects, not enough time or $$$.

I finished the placement of my thru-hood tank cap assembly by fine-tuning the alignment of the tank shims and then installed three-way 911-sounding air horns that actuall can be heard (just before one is squashed like a bug on the freeway......) two on the driver side and one trumpet on the passenger side.....

Forrest, that thru-hood tank cap looks great. Was that your idea and design? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

If the air horns are ineffective possibly a recumbent bike flag would help also?

Yes Dave, it was Forest's design. You see Larmo was concerned about the dirt that accumulates beneath the tank so he asked our resident Welder , Forest, if he could design something to keep this area clean. It was then that Forest realized if he cut a big old hole in his hood the rain would run into, thru and beneath the tank (and a few related areas) thereby cleansing the area of concern. I hope this helped. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Finished the last step in the oil cooler install by hooking up the hose from the NACA duct to the plenum I made for the cooler. Looking forward to giving it a decent run tomorrow, and putting it in a little traffic to see temps.

I took all the interior parts out this morning. That wasn't too difficult! I had the intention to remove 43 yrs of previous ownership from the carpets and seats!

I went to my local hardware store and found there a few industrial cleaning products for carpets and upholstery. And they did the job; they worked perfectly on my Teener's interior. The seats look like new, the carpets have changed from a brownish color into the original grey/black color. Sadly, the carpet piece that sits in front of the pedals has a hole in it. Oh well, not everything looks like new after so many years...

I've sanded the seat postitioning handles and put a new coat of shiny black paint on them. Tomorrow a second and third coat and they will look like new!

Went for a drive this evening. No more bad star issues since replacing the cap and rotor. Thought I had a bad set of f.i. trigger points. Any way car is running great except idle is a bit low , especially when hot after running for a while. And I don't seem to be able to effect the idle with ecumenical adjustment so I probably have to check the tips setting? I set it according to Rich's picture and I can say since putting this new tps in front Bruce Stone my acceleration has been perfectly smooth with no bucking .. so back to recheck in and fine tuning.

Installed the right side engine tin I picked up from Garold at Hershey. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Had to run a tap thru the heat exchanger, I guess it had been a while since any screw was in there. It's a 6mm x 1.0 thread.

So now that after all this work is done, and the car's running very well, I'm thinking it's near time to do a valve adjustment.

The circle continues... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Finally got around to putting on my new rear brakes from PMB, by which I mean: I finally got the damn retaining screws out of the old rotors.

If you use stainless steel instead of the zinc screws you will never have trouble removing them. Where are you located in Detroit?
