Oil change, added the tuna can and finally replaced the broken passenger side door handle.

Started cleaning up the body work. It looks much better without all the random black spray paint.

Fixed/changed the shift bushings on Kathy's bumblebee. She had been complaining that her shifting was bad. I just figured she was comparing it to the shifter in her WRX with a shift kit installed. Well I should have been a better listener because today when I removed the rubber sleeve over the shift coupler near the fire wall one bushing crumbled out on to the garage floor. I guess she was right. Changed today and car shifts great now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) I bet she'll be happy, but I am sure I'll still hear I told you so.

******update********

Kathy got home and took it for a spin. She rated it a 9.5 out of a 10. She said she is no longer stirring the soup or driving the bus when driving her car and she is happy.

Last night ................ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Took the wife and did the August SCCA Friday night TSD rally. Come to find out these are trap style rallies and a little over our pay grade for ones first TSD rally. LOL.
Only had to call the Rallymaster once. LOL.
Blew by the first check point without stopping, but scored a 37. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
It went downhill from there. Final score 937. But we weren't the worst. High score 1238.
Winning score 18.

Absolutely bitch'n roads. Had a ball.
Hint : Read the rule book about 3 times and it would make your first rally a little easier.
Us not, cold turkey.

Tonight, driving to Ridgefield for dinner.
Looks like the tuna can and output shaft leaks are fixed.

Get a Garman dude.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Finally finished up the rear brake caliper rebuilds using the kit from PMB.

A quick shout out to Eric @ PMB. When I finally tore into the rebuild kit, I realized a couple of O-rings were missing. Eric quickly sent me replacements and also threw in the brake bleeder screws I had mentioned I needed to order. Great service!

Re-installed the rear brake "valve" that Eric rebuilt. The top nut is a PITA to thread with the "valve" and brake lines in the way!! Finally got in and the brakes rebled for the 100th time!
Got to try out the rolling jack that came with the lift- worked slick!!

Now that the sun is almost down (though still 105!) , time to see how the brakes feel...

Stripped most of the rust off the wheels and painted them. They are only temporary but I wanted them to look nicer than they did when I bought the car. One of them is a replacement and is about 2 cm wider than the originals.

The car was missing 2 lug bolts when I bought it. Does anyone have a couple they want to part with? I plan to go with studs eventually but will use the bolts for the early stages of the project.

$.99 tacos?? Slow down, dude. You need to save those for the "big" anniversaries (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Seriously, congratulations. Looks like you scored husband points (and fairly inexpensively, I might add). Nice!

Drove from /Berkeley to Tracy on a beautiful day in Northern California. After today's drive I promised myself never to go back to carbs fuel injection is the only way to go. Especially with a V6.Attached Image

Looks like the perfect garage. Slide another 914 under the lift. Don't spoil it with tools. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
