No work on it directly, I started to put together my new mill to make some parts for it!

Top portion weighs 1100+ pounds, base is 500+ pounds.

I still need to attach the 10 tool ATC and the power drawbar.

OK Mueller, I am jealous! I have been lusting for a Tormach for years. I can't wait to see the cool parts that will come off that machine. I would love to have a tool changer on my Mill.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm getting this for it as well:

Wow. It is so weird, for some reason that didn't make me less jealous. Haha. That is truly going to be an awesome setup! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drooley.gif)

Fixed the driver's window. The "button" came off the regulator cable, letting the window fall to the bottom of the track.

Attached Image

Pried apart the teeth a little to give them a better grip on the button

Attached Image

Kind of a fiddly job, but after cleaning the regulator cable and realigning the track it works much better. Not sure how long the old button will last though . . . does anybody ("Mikey"?) make a replacement for the early cars (70-72)?

Also started cleaning up the cockpit after the Engman long-kit install (THANKS Scotty!). Next steps: Ospho, then primer, paint, and put the interior back in.

Lots more to follow . . .

Garage ??? ... you have room in your garage now? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

I sold some parts I no longer needed this w/e (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheer.gif)

I'm leaving for AZ again, but when I get back, I need to finish prepping Dianne's '71 for body/paint, get her motor runnin', head out on the highway, (let's see who gets that one) ... and attempt to install the hydraulic clutch release system in the 'BB'. It's been way too long being without having a driveable 914 (shut up, Elliot) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) - (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

Turned down an offer to sell the 914, I just said not for sale. I mentioned 914World if serious for a car and he said he just buys and sells them when he sees them sitting around, I'm guessing he was hoping I'd throw out a dirt cheap price due to wanting to get rid of it.

According to my neighbor where the car is being stored another person asked him if it was for sale a few weeks ago, neighbor told him no and he proceeded to go up the driveway to try and get a better look at it under the car cover. Neighbor told him not a good idea and to leave.

I really need to get the car in my garage!

I can't leave mine in the driveway ever or it ends up with a note asking to buy it with an out of area phone number. Different number every time...

Hot as hell here in PA today. So I Threw an old air con in the garage window and replaced all the
gaskets and springs for the "starboard" Zenith carb. Posted a question
about plugs so I'll grab those. Need to order a new cap and rotor. Have new plug wires already.

Cheers

Well no pics so not very interesting....but did final dog work to refinish engine bay of "yellow" ( a conversion) ...It has been in process for about three weeks so cant really even guess the number of hours but only happy I am not paying time and material on this one. It has been in the high 90s so certainly sweating my a__ off.
Ready to prime tomorrow and find my shortcomings then to shop for paint. Will post pics when done but it has been virtually stripped to metal mechanically ..certainly the hard way. Good news is the car was solid metal under the crappy paint someone had applied.

Cuda, I assume you have an extinguisher in the car. NEVER go without one! Many years ago I was starting my car in Porsche Park at Road America and it wouldn't start and had a MAJOR gas smell. One of the fuel lines had come loose. Thank God no one was smoking nearby, but I got a Halon extinguisher right after that and have never not had one in any of our vehicles.
Cheap insurance!!!

Yep, I do keep a fire extinguisher in both 914s. Sure hope I never need them!

I installed a new AEM fuel pump in the 944 style. Flows more than a Bosch and is slightly quieter than my old pump... Then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
Runs great!
