i just wanted to start a thread to see what you guys do day to day on your cars.

i'll start,

about a month ago, i pulled my engine and trans to put in a new clutch. had the flywheel lightened and resurfaced. but what i didnt know is that i had to shim the little ball that the clutch arm rides on, after a resurfacing. so guess what i did today?

yup, pulled the trans and put an extra washer under the ball. you have to goop up both washers to get it to seal because the threaded hole goes all the way thru to the inside of the trans. i also replaced the plastic cup that the ball rides in. the throwout bearing and its little plastic blocks were fine so i buttoned every thing back up. 5 hours total. i think this has been the cheapest repair yet on my car. $2.75 for the little plastic cup.

what did you do to your 914 today?

No pics of the car, I was solo, but here's the aftermath ... 100F heat led to some serious 4-point harness sweat lines. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Car did great but I'm at least a quart low on water.

Love it....means you're doing it right, that's all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Today I drove my teener to work for the first time since October 2014.

Following a phenomenal job by PMB Performance to repair rust and repaint, I had to put the car back together and ended up fighting a transmission/clutch problem which finally got resolved yesterday.

It's good to be back on the road! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Yesterday finished about three weeks of prep work and this goes to shop for engine bay paint. Was solid just looked like crap.
Pain and suffering but my labor rate is better than all others. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Awesome day of driving ( perfect weather). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Finally sorted out my cooling system and fuel system...so its ready for road trips.

Drove 175 miles today out to Blackhawk Cars & Coffee in Danville, up to the Santa Cruz mountains and stopped for lunch at Alice's.

Absolutely beautiful 70 degree day.

Hey Nein14! Nice work on the oil coller setup. I have the same shroud. how did you mount the oil cooler and which oil cooler did you use? you said you widened the shroud but it looks the same as mine other than the hole in the top for the oil hose fitting.

The cooler is NOS RX 7 cooler that I have had for 10 years I took a Fiberglass GT cooler split it down the middle and widen and re glassed it and moved the holes. Have a smaller front cooler that has been in the car but decided to change it since the car is being painted

Cool! I also have a RX7 oil cooler. I also have a Fluidyne cooler that's quite a bit shorter, about the size of two standard Type 4 oil coolers. That one will fit under the shroud. How well did your smaller cooler work?

Been an on going project for a while but, "finished" it .
Center Console install.
My car had one when new . the top bracket was there and the heater control had been changed. could see that in the carpet.
It is in ... still need to rebuild / clean/ paint the gauges ... but that will come.
Last project I wanted to do before WERKS . now for a week of serious cleaning .

Put the motor back in after replacing a pushrod, rocker foot, and my engine mounts.

Then my dad was looking at the car and said he has a great idea for it. Then came back with a 3" straight pipe.

MPS won't hold vacuum so parked it. It ran when parked (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)
Gonna miss driving it until I can get the MPS rebuilt but can use the downtime to work on the to-do list.
