What will you garner from the data, Brad?
Several things I'm looking for. I want to verify that my vacuum limiter (aka "decel valve") is working and that the vacuum is limited to the setpoint I adjusted it to. I also want to see what the typical part-load vacuum level is, so that when I'm adjusting an MPS and I want to set the part-load mixture, I am doing so at an appropriate vacuum level. I also want to monitor the operation of the vacuum advance and retard on the distributor, I'm thinking of doing some mods to the retard to limit its range. And like any time you take data, who knows what else you'll see that's interesting.
Cool. Hope to see the results ... it may help me with fine-tuning the 1911cc [FI] motor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

BTW, you might ask, "Brad, you've waited 15 years do this, what's stopping you now?". What's stopping me is that it's supposed to be 100 deg. F here tomorrow, and we've had something like 22 days with the high over 90. Even here in Phoenix for late October this flat-out sucks. I need some cool weather to a ton of things on my car and other projects. Global warming (aka Climate Change) sucks.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) drove mine to work today, first time since Okteenerfest!!
- really need to get the wheels changed out and get the metal work finished on the fenders and get it stripped down for the repaint! but I'm torn- I can enjoy driving it thru the winter and wait until next summer to pull it off the road for a month or 2- hm, just cant decide.

anyway perfect weather today, 79 this afternoon, was 62 this morning!

No 914 stuff got done, but I did work on the process to obtain the black retro plates from the DMV for my SWB 911 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I called AAA and got a pretty good feeling from them about re-registering the car, since it hasn't been registered for 33 years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ... without paying those inane back-fee penalties (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Did a few more interior items. Finished up the rear window seal and trim, installed the pedal board, sealed the vapor barriers in the doors and finished the door panels. The interior isn't done, but it's getting there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

No pictures, but went to last C&C of the season in IA with the '71. Ran great, weather perfect for late fall- had top off!

Someone asked me how long I'd had the 914- was surprised when I said since new in Dec 1970! Parked next to a first gen Boxster and 987.1 Boxster...

Next C&C will be in December in Scottsdale- can't wait! The '73 is all ready!

Betty and I took her car to a PCA Rally event this morning. Got home around 4.

Had fun driving in the countryside north of Dallas. I think we either finished 5th or 6th out of 30 cars.

Got a surprise from a good buddy of mine. (don't hate me...) He gave me a set of 16x6 Fuchs! Only 2 pictured but it's a set.

The decision to stay 4 lug or go 5 lug has just been made for me...
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
They'll need paint but are in great shape otherwise.

That'll bring the cost of the conversion down to a do-able $ range (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Got new covers for both- Porsche doesn't make one for the 914 so got it from Car Covers Direct- fits well with a mirror pocket as well. Can pick none, one or two mirror pockets. Was custom made and came in less than 2 weeks. Love the way the Porsche one fits the Spyder, wish they made them for the older cars, but no luck...

Is he a vendor here? I would like to have my Fuch's polished and painted.
