Tried out my new power bleeder and dumped a pint of brake fluid on my driveway before I noticed the fluid pissing out of the reservoir overflow tube. Once in pinched off the tube all was good and flushed the brake fluid.

And I drilled the holes in the engine compartment for the 914-6 oil tank I scored last week. Once I recover from a contortion fracture of the lower and upper third framasetters, I will mount the tank and take a few pics for the next post... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Today's efforts saw the tank put back together after it was recently painted. I just rested it back in it's place with thick sheets under to protect it and the bodywork.

I then sanded the small touch ups on rear wing ready for paint touch up. I'm starting to get over picky about blemishes and slight imperfections. I'll never get past paint stage at this rate.

I also made the euro driving light fixings and converted the turn signal buckets.

drove it again (> 100 miles today) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

then refilled the tank (added "stabil"), pumped the tires up to 40 psi, and put her away "for a few weeks."

Gotta love the fall WX in VA (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Won an auction on eBay for one of those rectangular rear reflector lens things, got it for a smoking price ($65). Even with shipping from the UK ($25), it's still a LOT less than what I've seen these things go for here in the States.

So while I'm waiting for this piece to get here and for my car to get out of the shop, I have to figure out how I'm going to open the trunk if I put this piece on, lol!

For those of you that have installed this rectangular reflector lens on the back, what did you do (other than drilling a hole in the lens) to open the trunk? I'm thinking of adding a strip of LEDs under the lens and wiring it to the brake light, so it'll act like a third brake light, but I have to figure out how to open the trunk first!

Back in the day the reflector kits came with an electric solenoid with a switch under the dash.
When installing the reflector make sure you give your method of attachment a lot of thought. 40 years later we're seeing quite a few with rust issues under the reflector.
So scrape off the foam tape and figure out something else.

Lowered rear of car few days back as ride very firm with light springs, much less harsh road ride, did a DIY front wheel alignment on the front end a lowered for a level stance, hard to do because I need good clearance for my rough gravel road to the nearest open road.

Took delivery of a very cool box of parts this morning that plugs lots of holes in my six restoration / GT build, lot of NOS bits for the column, hand throttle included. 3 & ½ years of hunting and 2 months of negotiation with a really nice guy in AZ - very happy today
