In between the stop & go rain, did some long overdue maintenance on one of my bicycles. Basically, needed to change the 40+ year-old tires and tubes.

Had to clean up the old gum wall residue on the wheels, also cleaned up the old dried-up grease from the races and bearings ... then re-greased them before reassembly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif)

Just for reference, I bought this bike in the early 70's, right about the time I bought my first 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

Good one! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

You should send these photos to Autoweek magazine to add to their back page "Moving Miscues" featuring the crazy things people do moving things in their vehicles.

finally installed my front hood seal from 914rubber! Wow super nice and well seated and no need for any adhesive. thanks again 914Rubber!!!
And also found out no rust found after removal of old seal. after 6 years owning it and more than 8 years seated on my neighbors driveway (previous owner).

I always liked that Rally look. i took the face and base plate off the ashtray and made up a mounting for the watches. Ashtray still slides in and out and is functional...

"West" German Hanhart chronos.

Originally I was going to use johannes phone holder but went more custom...

With the mrs help i tinted the back window. Looks a lot better that way imo.

Also lined the firewall and refitted the padding inside the roll bar.

In order for me to final fit the turn signal/side light buckets i had to underseal the inner wing around that area. That stuff is messy and stinks!

The seat bases have been painted and are now curing. Need to wait for the fibre glass kit to arrive so that the pad at the back of the seats can be repaired and refitted.

2 more dash gauges to strip and refurb then it's ont the last bit of dash wiring before carpet and seats go in.

Seems like i'm finally making progress.

Itching to start on the enine!

60's in Minnesota today! Mine is up on jack stands for the winter, but today I bled the brakes (I re-built all 4 calipers a few weeks ago) and drained the transmission oil so I can replace some leaking seals. I also started taking apart a 2.0 engine that I picked up over the winter. The 2056 build is about to begin!

Finally getting around to installing new front turnsignal bucket on the driver side. Cleaned up some of the rust and rattle can the paint. I'm installing Euro-type front LED turnsignals. I've had these green LED boards sitting around for a year so I figured I'd at least put one set on my car.

I'll be selling the all-amber LED boards I just took out for next to nothing since they're my first prototype boards.

This past fall a mounting ear sheared/failed on the rear caliper of my track car. Amongst other things the shear stripped the threading on the caliper mounting bolt. Today I finally got it welded up, re-drilled and tapped so that I can mount my new caliper.

Temps in the 60's this weekend so went to roll it out of the garage for its first drive this year. Then I saw it and I remembered the Pennsylvania State Inspection was due last November. I was supposed to go get it re registered for Antique Tags making it exempt from the Inspection and Annual Registration fee's. I have the Title and Documents filled out to go to get this done this week. Going to cost about $75 for this and it's a one time deal, no more Annual fee's for Inspection and Registration ever.

Long week @ Rothsport.
Quick trip to Forest Grove Saturday AM to meet Matt (914 Rubber) to get his front control arm parts that came from PMB. Slapped on the ball joints and installed the rubber bushings after he headed home.
Attached Image
Matt you left the strut pins. They're zip tied to the control arm

Soda blasted Mike's (Warpig) impeller at RS on Friday at quitting time. I see I missed a couple spots. Do Over. I'm thinking I'll give it a coat of clear coat and bake it on with the heat lamps. With's Mike's OK.

Then ran home and started at a timing belt/water pump service on a 2005 Subaru 2.5 DOHC Turbo. Before heading off to a family baby shower/dinner.

Kind of OT but I'm pretty sure with all the conversions I'll see a few Subaru engines in the future.

Today, I finished my 914-6 Carbon Fiber engine "tin" and will post a pic when it is installed on the motor. Also, I shelled my new old fan and installed it with new pulley, shims, and shiny new nut.
