Yesterday I gave my 76 yearold mom a ride in the 914 for the first time. She thought it was too fast and too loud? Do I need need to change the Scart exhaust or my mom? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

When I sent my OE 914-6 badge out for polish, I made a small wooden holder out of a short 2 x 4. The badge "Pins" Sat into some small drilled holes, and keep the badge steady + from flying across the room (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
BTW that emblem is Looking Good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Who is making those GT badges? If I can get one good one (even a rental), I can make several out of injection moulded black plastic or even CnC cut aluminum anodized black... very cool.

Thanks,

Yea, I kind of stole it from the GT style 1/2 cage mount then changed the down-tube angles since I am so big and my seat is pretty much up against the firewall...

Replaced the alternator in Dad's car. What a PITA! Need to get a new battery to run with it.

I hope it works because I don't want to change it out again!

Keep the exhaust and give your mom a ride in a different car.

Do you have any pictures of your engine lid hinge repair? I have two of these to do. One is just a simple weld on bracket base to the firewall but the other bracket broke loose and took about a 1 1/2" piece of the firewall with it. I was thinking of reinforcing the firewall with a backing plate welded in the back side. Anyone else do this?

Ying and Yang day,

After an eternity got the six onto its dolly and listened to Radio LeMans

Pedal box, loom, dashframe, upper column and front shifter just to go and the fun can begin (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

In moving the 911 it has sprung a fuel leak near the pump, hopefully it's just the hoses again. Ethanol in modern fuel seems to just chew through the rubber (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Investigate tomorrow....

Drove to East Texas for an open house at a VW shop. About 150 miles round trip. Met some nice East Texas folks for burgers and a beer beforehand and had a very cool Beck replica park next to me.
