So freakin weird. When you hover on the image it opens in the correct orientation. So I saved the correct version to my iPad and then selected to post it and it came out sideways again. Freakin weird.
Cool. I got's me one of Mueller's 2.1L badges in the mail today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mueba.gif)

Thanks, Mike (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

... also, got a call from RMeuropean in response to my email yesterday ... the remainder of my 912 parts order is en-route, coming from a different warehouse ...

Drove it for the first time in weeks. Have been neglecting it since I got the 911. And it's been raining for several days in a row. No rain tonight. Started right up and didn't miss a beat (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

So embarrassed Mike, my apologies. Name corrected on original post. Great job though.

Need to update the pic to the left.

I just installed the LED headlight bulbs from 914Rubber. Now I need to go for a night drive somewhere. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Jeffery, 914 7T3 (the teener formerly know as Calvinator2016) stopped by this afternoon to look at a front trunk lid he wanted to purchase ... and to shoot the shit for a while, of course. He's coming back Thursday to help remove that 'choice' lid from the 'BB' and install another lid (that I have stashed away) on the 'BB' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Maybe he can help me with the brake bleeding on the 'BB' too? ... if time allows (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) ... then maybe I'll be able to drive the beast to the SoCal Fun Day in Temecula (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

OT: Received a couple shipments of new parts for the '66 912 too ... F & R brake rotors from AZ Autohaus, and a big box of miscellaneous parts (F & R wheel bearings & seals, brake hoses, suspension bushings, body seals, engine gasket set, etc.) from RMeuropean. Upon taking inventory, it appears to be a partial order. Interesting, all items were stated to be in stock when I placed the order though. First time ordering from RM ... good prices, but not too happy with only getting a partial order (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

New KONI strut inserts and rear shocks were ordered from Summit, but a rep at KONI said they won't be shipping out to their vendors until the 3rd week in August. No biggie ... I need to repaint the suspension components anyway, so the timing isn't that critical.

Do a search on McMark's "long tube" bleed method. You won't need another person unless you want them to do the work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Temporary fix on the shift rod/coupler . . . then a short test drive. It's really pretty good (a definite improvement compared to the last drive). Now to find time enough to get it to the garage so I can fix it right.

No seriously. You pump the brakes and watch the tube until the bubbles stop then move on to the next one. Easy as pie! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Spare 30 minutes fitted in before mowing the lawn before tomorrows downpour. Took the front calipers outside and cleaned them up with a wire wheel on the drill.

Came up really nice and now ready to be reconditioned over the weekend.

I spend about 4hrs on my "toysRus" lather (my first project) and made dizzy plug for my 2056 engine.

Of course I could have bought one for $30, but it's not what you can buy, but rather what you can make. Which makes the 914 so attractive in my eyes.

Well, Jeffery came by, we got the 'old' front trunk lid off of the 'BB and safely loaded into his SUV ... then we installed and adjusted the 'new' shiny lid on the 'BB'. Looks too nice - I'll have to wash and polish the car to match the new lid (film at 11, tomorrow morning's type 11) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

We also bled the brake system and the clutch's slave cylinder. I still have to adjust the push rod on the brake pedal assembly ... too much gap due to the added thickness of the mounting bracket for the clutch's M/C.

Other items on the To-Do list:

Drain fuel tank and purge the fuel lines.
Pour in a few gallons of fresh fuel.
Install battery, attempt to start (to determine if carbs will need attention).
Drain crankcase oil.
Install new (Jonesy) Tuna Can and Taco plate.
Fill with new oil (Brad Penn 20/50).

Reinstall foot pedal plate, center armrest unit, driver's seat and driver's side carpet.
Replace faulty turn signal switch. ... and Fuse# 8.
Install new front trunk seal (914 Rubber).
Adjust headlight assemblies (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)
Pump some fesh air in the tires and check lug bolt torque.
Test drive ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)
Wash & polish exterior (IMG:style_emoticons/default/FERG.gif)

Now you have no excuses, 5 weeks to knock that out.

Easy Peasy....we'll see the car there now for sure.

I finally installed my flat tow kit from 914rubber. Now I can drag the car home myself next time it breaks down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Can't tell you how many times I have used my tow bar to drag my car to events, off the roadside (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) , and to the shop knowing I had before me, a two or three day project on the lift.
