Morons who believe the government should provide for you from the cradle to the grave. I was born here and CA has gone straight down the toilet. Garbage everywhere, graffiti, seriously overgrown vegetation all over the freeways, accident debris that is just left on the freeways- bumpers, grills, wheels, etc, pot holes that ruin wheels and tires, and homeless POS MF'ers all over with their hands out who poop and pee all over and just pile up their junk on public property. The police and government do absolutely nothing to curtail this criminality which impacts everyone's quality of life. Oh, did I mention this whole sanctuary city and possibly sanctuary state under the moonbeam idiot? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)

Wow! You should move to seal beach.

Anything in south Orange County is also nice. The politics is what it is.
Probably save that for the sand box even though I agree with you.
Today I plan to play with the shifter some more.

Drove across the brand new tappan zee bridge. Same old traffic.

That's good to know. Headed up to Maine in 2 weeks.

Today, I used the rear trunk lid on the '71 as a work bench. Had to install some exterior siding on an old porch remodel that I didn't quite finish. My wife said we weren't going to the 914 Fun Day unless I took care of some loose ends around the house (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ... so ...

This used to be our front door - now a window ...

Cutting and test fitting the siding ...

Tyvek wrap and primed siding going on ...

Trim pieces installed ...

Got a few minor details to still take care of, but we'll see y'all on Saturday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

From the front. I replaced the grommets around horn wires and pulled the spot light wires inside and tidied them up as they're not being used.

My son helped remove the gearbox. I managed to get the lower studs out to fit longer ones to properly secure the gearbox.

Having received the better quality push rod tube seals I changed those on one side.

Finally I got the top dash pad ready for a blow over with texture paint. The engine tinware is also now ready for paint.

Had to clean the "Love Bugs" off the front of my car after trip to College Station and back to Austin. Millions of the critters sacrificed themselves to traffic last week.

Gotta say it is disappointing to see right wing proselytizing in this topic in the Garage... and on this forum at all. Wish the moderators would keep that stuff off 914 World. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif)

Only a little bit today as i'm knackered after this mornings mountain bike ride.

Painted undersides of engine tin, fitted the brake switch and located some unconbected unkown wires.
