Opened the garage door and looked at her ...
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

I should probably try to fire her up this weekend, she's been sitting for months.

Taking the '73 to a C&C at a Porsche themed coffee shop in Old Scottsdale tomorrow morning. Supposedly a lot of AC'ed cars show up- will see how many 914's... maybe MoveQik?

Spent the first couple hours labeling my new bulk hardware bins. Then on to getting Mike's (Warpig) car ready for Saturday.

Finished installing the fuel pump harness into the fuel tank cavity. Thru the firewall with a solid grommet with a slit in it to allow the harness to go thru.

Then I installed the fuel pump.

Seam sealed the hell hole with brush on seam sealer. Then coated it with the first application of Eastwood HD Anti Rust.

I mounted the remaining heat exchanger & muffler, going to have to reshape the heat shield as I must have kinked or twisted it when removing.

I'm going to need to get a new clutch cable as this one seems to be stretched. I'm also going to have to replace the brand new hemp accelerator cable as the thread that holds it in place in mcmarks bracket snapped with just one light nip with a spanner.

Because I was on my own today and needed to turn the car around and the only way was to speed up the idle and limp it around, does this count as the first ever time driving it?

C&C in old Scottsdale. Only 914 there but lots of AC'ed cars including a bent windshield pre A, and a great backdated SC coupe done by Patrick Motorsports... Even sprinkled for a few minutes and had to put the top on!!Attached Image Attached Image

Working inside the box. The work that I do usually doesn't fall in that category.

Cleaned up internal door locking mechanism, lubed, and installed ...nice, easy task.

Then, sanded down trunk and right door sill area with 80grit and some rust dissolver.

Rattle canned the trunk with primer....will need to sand a few "dirty" areas again such as you can probably see on the driver's side shock tower sheet metal area.Attached Image Attached ImageAttached ImageAttached Image[attachmentid=630

I fitted the last caliper on the rear today and I have now started to get brake on the car. More bleeding and adjustment on the pedal to get it right I think.

However I found one of the pushrod tube seals is now leaking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

New (used from bdstone) suspension arm to be fitted on the front tomorrow.

Gave the old girl a clean, test drive after lowering the front 20mm and managed to dust it up again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) ,we are heading towards a drought and very hot here @ the moment, decided not to drive it anymore as its too dusty on my entrance road and I'am commiting to painting my house before the new year as I have friends coming from Australia.
Off to the North Island to see my kids for Xmas so that will be great.Attached Image
The pic of my Audi gives an idea of the dust on the road,I have to hose it down every couple of days....so much for living in a piece of NZ paradise ,never mind shouldn't complain.

We met this morning and drove down to the Porsche swap in Escondido. The swap was a bit of a dud, but any excuse to go exercise the car. Autos International had an open house too, so we did get a brief tour of their facility and I was able to discuss my interior needs with Augustin. As we drove up to the event, Coondog was driving in from the other direction driving his new 3.0 conversion just back from PMS. Great build. Sounds glorious!!

We also met up with Jim - Lucky9146, and he invited us down to his house to see his ongoing build. Wow!! He's hiding some great cars!! He is a very talented man indeed.

Cars parked in the driveway to give him some 914 inspiration.....

Participated in the above mentioned Porsche dud swap meet to help fund my addiction, but the best part of the day was hanging out with these guys! Not often one sees three 914's out in front of their house, at least for me! And,it was inspiring to see actual running driving 914's.
It's coming!

Went through both garages and located some 'P' parts that I'll be bringing back to CA.

Other than that, just doing some yard maintenance since I hadn't been to the AZ house for almost a whole year (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

And goofing off playing guitar in the evenings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
