More electrical and thinking about more electrical. Going to try and clean it up more.

It's starting to get some flow. I can see a little more I can clean up in the red wires and the turn signals just come in and loop to go out. Yep, I can see a bunch of stuff to do in there.

Replaced the front hood springs on the '73 with new RD springs. My forehead will be happy.
My son helped- an extra pair of hands to hold the hood open was nice- made a "tool" with heavy duty wire to pull on the spring to get it off the hook. Worked slick...

I only thought about driving the 914......... as my car is in AZ and I am in Laguna Beach dealing with the City Building Division / Code enforcement............ my idiot neighbor is at it again.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sheeplove.gif)

After sixteen blissful years and three with the idiot, we are going to sell..........

And if you folks want to get out of the snow, this is your ticket! Note that the place comes with 914 only gated off-street parking. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I installed my newly double wrapped steering wheel and took Underdog for a drive. This car just begs to be driven, and I go out driving just for the heck of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

I dropped engine and trans. Did it on my own with exception of lifting onto saw horses. Noel (ndfrigi) gave me good advice on removing stuck axle bolts.

Small hell hole but otherwise solid.

I'm pooped...time to watch Rams vs Seahawks.

To be continued....

Spent the day installing Ben's (MB911) Stainless Steel quiet muffler. Love the muffler!! Multiple trips to the hardware store to jury rig a 911 muffler hanger to the 914 muffler hanger. Nice and quiet compared to the Triad. No plans yet to sell the Triad. I might get a future wild hair up my ass and want to piss off the neighbors again.

Is it just me or does it look like the upper gearbox end cone screws are overloaded and will eventually fail from vibrations and heat? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Clean up and polished up a distributor to be sent out for overhaul and testing.

that looks very nice- I am curious where do you send it to for testing? I have one I bought a couple years ago that was supposedly refurbished and looks great, new seal, new plate and groundstrap etc, but when I put it in the car it ran likc crap, put my other one back in , like night and day- I am wondering if the cam or shaft is worn and there is wobble? would like to have it tested to see whats up with it. I wanted a spare just in case kind of thing,. any information you can relate would be greatly appreciated,

Phil
