Mark Henry made this great custom mount for running external oil cooling, filter on your 914, however I had a problem making a hose assembly that would clear the bolt (red arrow).
One solution I had was extending the plate port with a 2" nipple and a female coupler. Problem with that was that there was about 4.5" of unsupported brass hanging off the side of the motor, with extreme motor vibration, not a good situation. Then it dawned on me that my local hose fitting shop could make up a hose using crimp on ends. These ends take up almost 0 space and fit perfectly. Also, having the hose extensions from the ports on the motor will make installing and removing the motor much easier. Next hurtle... dr Attached thumbnail(s) |
