I ruined a 2.0 head. It had a stripped helicoil on an exhaust stud. I drilled it over size and tapped it for an insert. I don't think I tapped deep enough and I broke the exhaust stud boss. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
Now the only option is a new head. And that really means 2 new heads if I do things how they should be done. If I could find a good used 2.0 head, I would use it. But I have to assume any used 2.0 head has issues. At least that's how I would play the odds. Worst part is, I was planning on selling this car to focus on another 914 project. I didn't want this car to become a project. Maybe I will offer it "as is", with full disclosure of the problem. Sucks, but I try to remember some people have real problems. |
