Mounting a VW inline 4 (diesel or gas) longitudinally in a 914 is a PITA. No place for motor mounts on the driver side of the "front" of the engine. I just used the vw tranny mount then attached it to the ac mount on the engine. I myself am debating if I'm going down to the junk yard to rip out an audi a4 o1a, and finally saying good bye to my 901. |

Just thought this might be of interest, in the photo at the chisel point is where I found a spiders web of fatigue cracks up to about 2 inches in length!
If you are lucky the factory will fill one of those holes with 2 metal discs and does anyone know what those 3 spot welds hold just to the right of the handbrake recess? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i1247.photobucket.com-14010-1328200326.1.jpg) |
