(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif) I thought this would be the best place so start.

I live in Oakdale, CA., and my parents used to have a silver 914 with the sideskirt porsche lettering, I forget the year, and the size of the engine.

All I know it that it was sold to a man that was told that if he could get it running, he could have it for a real cheap price.

I was young and didnt realize what we had, so I never begged them to keep it.

These details should be enough for the person who bought it to recognize. I'd like to know what happened to the car, and if it was ever restored. I kind of have an emotional link to that car, and have enver since longed to own one.

I'd absolutely love a response. I want to know if it ever got back to being the car that I remember.

Welcome!

(faceticious)

That car was painted black, and restored to nearly showroom new. It was sold to a guy in Van Nuys with a drug addiction, who in turn traded it for $100 worth of crack cocaine. The drug dealer was arrested, the car impounded, where it sat for 18 months in a bonded drug seizure holding pen, just North of LAX.

It was auctioned (in a lot) to LA Porsche Dismantlers, who disassembled it, and sold off the tub to a man who later was arrested on an insurance fraud charge, for switching numbers, and burning it to the ground. The rusted hulk was hauled to a junk yard, near the strand out at Venice Bch.

The balance of the parts sat in the weather for nearly 7 years, and were purchased by a guy who had a good roller, and just needed all the other stuff.

The rusted tub was found by John Williams, who dragged it back to his shop to cut what little usable metal there was left.

The guy with the roller, who bought the parts from you parents car, was tragically killed in a freak accident, while driving a unicycle up the 405... and later, his brother ran an advertisment in a gay LA sex mag, to sell the parts.

John Williams saw the ad, and sent a courier over to pick up the parts, and take them back to his shop, for $100.

I called John, and had him build me, his words, not mine, "The best one you ever fucking had!" for around $15k.

I think I got your car.

Seriously, that made me smile. LOL

I dont really expect to ever hear anything about the car though, I tried. heh.

I do plan on picking up a 914 in decent condition at some point in the next 5 years though. They have so much character. I guess thats what makes em so special.

I would buy that sticker, if it were $20, or less.
