Hey guys.. I am looking to make some goodies with the club "HAT" logo and need a good copy of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)
The one on the hat seems to look good If anyone has the "HAT" logo in AutoCAD (*.dwg) that would save me some time. Cheers please send it to kerrys914@yahoo.com |

Hey Kerry,
I don't wanna put you down or take away your enthusiasm about the club, so don't take this the wrong way... We've never been too anal about this stuff, but the "admin crew" would like to have some control over stuff like this Please contact me or any of the other admins on your plans before you go ahead Thanks, Jeroen |

But you can make all the 914 related things you want. It's the 914Club stuff that we want to keep a handle on.

I bet if there was an ecommerce area of the site with an easy way to order items people would not want to make their own.

is it really that difficult? just throw some nice pics up on a page with links to purchase via paypal. if paypal is the only method of payment it will bypass all the hassles. if people do not have paypal they will set it up if they want an item bad enough. of course you need to have one person handle the merchandise and do the shipping. they could get a little $ off each sale for their time.

the time consuming part seems to be:
Packaging: figuring shipping cost (must know packaging size & weight for each item) then someone has to actually do it. Inventory is another thing. This seems really simple at first, but the intricate details are the time killers here. |

We're REALLY close
The club will have a real shopping cart system we're currently testing and ironing out some minor flaws Paypal is a posibility, but not needed. People can just use their creditcard cheers, Jeroen |

The Admin Crew may want to check out http://www.cafepress.com
This site has helped many of my clients and friends in car clubs, dog breed clubs, etc. sell merchandise with little to no overhead cost. Not the perfect solution by any means but a very popular solution that seems to meet the needs of many people. |

People can just use their creditcard cheers, Jeroen doing real time credit card processing is no big deal, you just have to be willing to cover monthly merchant account and gateway fees. With one club selling a limited number of items, this gets tough to cover. -or- you have to have somebody willing to run credit cards and track sales, taxes, etc through their existing company. Don't know if HPH or ? is willing to do this, but I doubt it at n/c. If you have one club, with a limited number of sales, Paypal type credit card processing is probably the best solution IMHO. I've offered a possible multiclub solution to Brad in the past, but it would be a money making venture, not non-profit (sorry guys!). A club would still make $$, they just wouldn't have do deal with anything other then approving products and cashing monthly or quarterly checks. I have the domain name registered buyclubstuff.com. Already have a warehouse and all the logistic tools at my disposal, but the window of opportunity for me to put a program together and market it to multiple clubs (required to bring the cost down for everybody) may very well now be closed due to limited time to grow it. Maintaining such a venture is easy, growing adequate partners is where the work and time would be needed. BTW, I have launched fully functional shopping carts with credit card processing for hundreds of products which generate thousands of $$ of weekly gross sales in two days. Just my $0.02, and stirring the pot a bit. sm |
