This is the shift coupler for my new side shifter shift linkage. My new bushings for this coupler are in the mail. To install the bushings, am I supposed to drive this pin out to disassemble?

Any secrets that someone want to share? Thought I would ask before I start banging (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Yes just keep hitting with MFH (thats medium hammer) and a punch maybe 1/4" end. should just slide right out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) Just be carefull not to bugger up the ends. If you do then they can be cleaned up with a file before you put the pin back in.

Method I used recently: 15mm deep socket, short bolt slightly smalller than the diameter of the pin, vise; I put the head of the bolt against one jaw, joint pin in the middle and socket (hollow end toward pin) against other jaw. Use the vice as a press.
