I woke up this morning with the sound of feeder bands of rain hitting the house. I checked the news and it finally moved ashore during the night.
The projected path, as it moves across the state, will have the eye passing over the house sometime today or tonight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) They're talking about winds of 75 mph with gusts to over 100. But it should start to break apart somewhat as it crosses of the state. The rainfall amounts will be 10"-20". Its moving slow (6 mph) and dumping rain in buckets. We're on the west side of the state, actually northeast of Tampa. I put up plywood on the windows on Friday. We didn't get much of anything yesterday as it stalled in the Atlantic for about 12 hours. Today I'll get the the rest of the stuff off the back patio and stick it in the garage. Bet ya the power goes out sometime. This is going to suck. Paul |

Don't fly your teener in this weather.
Be safe, and if you can't be safe, at least be discreet, or insured. Really buddy, don't eat things you find outside. Godspeed! (I mean the wind is fast, like God!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) M |

I put two concrete blocks in the car to weigh it down. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I've got rain blowing in under the garage door! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) When it lets up I'll get the camera out of the truck and post some action pics. Paul |

QUOTE(URY914 @ Sep 5 2004, 07:47 AM) It is going to be a loooong day. Good luck Paul, We lucked out down here. Just a few broken roof tiles and trees down. Haven't lost power yet either. My old garaged doors face west, the direction of the wind. I backed the truck sideways against the doors so they wouldn't have to stand the full force of the wind. Was also getting lots of water under the door. I actually got alot done on the car this weekend. dr |

Paul and I are only a few miles apart so I'm also expecting the eye to pass right over my house. I've taken care of all the important stuff. i.e.; parked my jeep sideways across the front of the garage door where the 914's are, put all my 914 memorabilia in a safe dry place and logged onto the 914club web site to keep in touch with the important people in my life. As you can see I've done all I can do. Now I'll just sit tight and wait it out.

I've been getting blown for the past 16 hours...
Sort of reminds me of my college days, when my girlfr.i... oh never mind Seriously, tons of wind and rain here in Central Florida. I think we were spared from what could have been a really nasty storm. So far... no flooding, but the lake behind me is getting full. |

The lake of fire? Is this the lake you said God was going to throw me in if I didn't send you money?
