If you've ever wondered what a club race was like, now is a good time to volunteer. We're looking for some volunteers!

CIR PCA Thunder 2004 Club Race Needs You!
70 Stock, Prepared and all out Racing Porsches



Be Part of the action September 18-19 at Putnam Park Road Course

Free meals, Free tee shirt, Undying CIR PCA gratitude for Volunteers

No Experience Necessary for any position listed below!



Volunteer Opportunities for:



· Corner workers – act as an extra set of eyes and ears working alongside an experienced corner flagger. Best “seats” in the house, close to the action. 7:30 am to 5 PM Sat, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Sunday. Need 20 each day.

· Timing and Scoring – Highly coveted positions, as they are located in the air-conditioned tower on the front straight. Positions include “runners” to copy and distribute practice session/race results, and “tapers” who serve as a back-up to the electronic timing a scoring. Hours: 7:30 -5 Sat and Sunday

· Registration – Work under the “big top”, distribute race packets, check race licenses, insure waivers are signed etc. Friday afternoon 2:30 to 6 pm and Saturday morning 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Need 2 people each day

· Scrutineer Assistants – Helps PCA National Scrutineer with racer technical inspection line, check logbooks. Friday afternoon 2:30 to 6 pm, Saturday 7:00 to 9:00 am. Need two volunteers.

· Pit and Grid – Control flow of racecars in/out of false grid, stage cars by practice times, assist racers with window nets, assure doors, lids, trunks are closed. If you like being close to race cars this is for you! 7:30 -5 Sat and 7:30 to 3:30 Sunday. Need three volunteers.

· Enduro Pit Stop Timers Need two teams of two people to record Enduro race cars making their mandatory 5 minute pit stops. Sunday 12:00 to 3:30 pm.

· Hospitality - Take care of about 40 club race volunteers, plan box lunches, distribute drinks, umbrellas, sunscreen etc. Make friends with ice water or coffee! 7-5 Sat and 7 to 3:30 on Sunday. Need three people each day

· Publicity Coordinator – Writes articles about event, submits them with pictures to CIRcular, Panorama and Club Racing news. Prepares a press release for local media after the event. Hours variable Saturday and Sunday.

This is the biggest event of the year for Central Indiana Region PCA, we expect 70 club racers and 30 driver education cars to take the track, please make some time to help.

DIRECTIONS TO PUTNAM PARK
VIA US 40: West from Indianapolis (45 minutes) to Mt. Meridian. Turn left (County Road 550E.) just past the Putnam Park sign. Drive 1.5 miles south to Putnam Park Road Course.

VIA US 70: West from Indianapolis (45 minutes) to the Cloverdale exit #41. Drive north on US 231 to US 40. Turn right on US 40 and drive past the Putnam Park sign. Make the next right turn on to County Road 550E. Drive 1.5 miles south to Putnam Park Road Course.

I doubt little helpers, but it depends on the position you are assigned.

I'll be coraling the corner workers and will be the liasion with PCA national, which means I'm a gopher.

I've worked the pit/grid before and it is a blast!

And if you haven't been out to PPRC before, there is a large viewing area and picnic shelter, so if you do bring the kids out, they have a safe place to watch from (behind a fence on top of a hill behind the cold pits) that gives a good view of nearly the entire circuit.
