Hey fellas, im ordering a clutch kit for my '72 1.7 but it seems that theyre advertised to be motor specific. Just curious, whats the difference? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

In the beginning, the friction disk was a 4 spring with a cover with 900 or so lbs of clamping force. I don't remember if the 2.0 cover was higher at 1100 lbs of clamping force.
Anyway, the 2.0 /6 had a 6 spring friction disk (supposedly for smoother take up) and 1100 lbs or so of clamping force. The /4 & early /6 clutch are all the same now from Sachs. |

I got mine from Jake Raby, flywheel and 6 spring clutch, he does something to them to make it smoother. I am have been driving standard shift since the early 60's and this clutch is real nice.
