Make sure you are using brand new flywheel bolts. DON'T re-use the old ones.
The pelican site was 150nm which is 111lbs. I thought it was more like 65lbs? I don't have my book handy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) |

JP nailed it. The 6 bolts pattern gets the stretch to 90% yield, hence the replace every time thing.
In 1978 porsche put out a service bulletin that said you don't have to replace the bolts anymore, i guess that means that iffn you have a 3.0 or later you can re-use them, 2.7 you replace em every time. |

15 MKP is 108.51 ft/lbs. I replace EVERY flywheel bolt EVERY time. 13 or whatever dollar bolts are zip compared to the labor and parts to replace a crankshaft or even the money to replace a flywheel (or a tranny!). Ya pays yer money, ya takes yer choice ............ The Cap'n
