I bid on a complete 914 oil cooler setup on ebay last week...it was an RSR type air dam w/ cooler, lines, filter adapter, etc...went for like $305 and my max bid was $300. Doh! Did someone here get it?
Anyway, here is my real problem: I need an external oil cooler. My temps at the track have been 230+, and that was on a 75 degree day. What I have been thinking about is using the GT replica bumper and front valence which both have cutouts for a cooler (I like the look). My question is: Where does the hot air vent? Did the "real" GT's have cutouts behind the bumper to vent the air? Is anyone running a setup like this or something similar? Any inputs/pictures would be appreciated. Thanks BH |

How do you feel about the 75-76 look ?? I know a lot of people (90% of the west coast 914 racers) that use the 75-76 bumper replicated in Fiberglass. You can mount things to the front of the tub, but behind the replica bumper.
This is one without the air dam... but you get the idea of what and how people do. B |
