Automotion had pulled the wheels from their site for a while. Now they offer 8x17 and 9x17, 8x16 and 7x16. Notes now say- "Manufactured using water & air cooled low pressure casting equipment resulting in the strongest and lightest cast aluminum wheels on the market. This design allows us to manufacture a wheel only slightly heavier than a more expensive forged wheel. Finished wheels are then completely X-Rayed to insure quality and strength." Have seen other manufactures us a spin-casting method. Cast will never be as strong as forged. Anyone know if the Fox Rota Linea Corse 17x9's will fit under the rears with AA flares? I'm also concerned about the strength. This car will see some track time. |

You might be able to fit if you pull the fenders a bit before paint. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) Saw a red 914 with hand formed flares with them on and it looked great. I'm going with an old school theme and they wouldn't fit in otherwise I'd be on them. |

These are "Cups" from a 928 in 7's & 8's with 225/50/16 Star Specs. Got them in rough finish from "Porsche dismantler" in CA shipped to VA for $500. Spent another $150 to a buddy to paint them & they look pretty killer on Buttercup. My flares are huge, so plenty of room....

The more I look around the more I think I'll go with the Euromeisters in 17x8 and 9". At $209 a piece I won't break the bank and actually have some tire choices.

Anyone with 16x9 real Fuchs fitted ? .... obviously on rear with GT flares.
If so what size tires ? any spacers ? any real clearance measurements ? rolled back or trimmed fender flanges ? |

I have 8x16 911 offset Fuchs on my GT clone with AA flares. The rears with 245/45x16 Yoko's with no spacers have about a 1/4 inch of clearance to the fender arch lip. Some of your clearance will be dictated by the flare installation.

No-one has actually seen the 17's yet, I think the picture is of 16" wheels. They are backordered till mid april? There is a thread on the bird board 911 tech section about this.

All right. Finally going to start to spend money on my project again. Can't believe it's been 2 years. I was even close to selling.
Anyhow, anyone running the 17" Euromeisters? I need to get this thing off the jack stands. I'm thinking of going with the 17x8 in front and the 9's in the rear with 255/40/17's and 225/45/17's. Are spacers required? I haven't painted it yet so I can massage the flares a bit. |

If you are on Automotions mailing list they have specials on all of the Holiday weekends. Sometimes it 20% off so you can get the wheels for about $650 for the 8/9" set. Bob |
