along with my pertronix install i did a cap and rotor, well when transfering plug wires from one cap to another, i pulled to high up and pulled the wire out of the connector, I know it could be repaired but theay are older stock type anyhow so I want to replace them. Any suggestions, car is a 2.7 conversion.

once again - Magnecore... 85's will be all you need.

i'm sure -somebody- has used MSD or Moroso wires.
but the hard part is not the wire, it is the 911 plug connector.
Magnecor's done it right. -and- they are good wires.

I have these phat auroras from aircooled.net. They are red, that's all I know about them so far.

Quick question.

I need to cut the ends off the coil lead and crimp on a 90deg angle boot. I am running a bulkhead mount fitting for the coil. (thats why)

So is there anything special about crimping one of these big cables? The factory crimping looks wierd.

they compare to 'conventional' ignition but a 2,7 already has a CD box (at least).

their device works on the same principle as a series-gap spark plug and i don't see how it can provide an advantage when there is already a CD ignition. (and every ignition wire has SOME capacitance...)

love to see the impartial A/B/A dyno runs on an engine that already has a HiPo CD ignition box

In a enviroment where you have a CD ignition I might agree.
The amount of capacitance in just a single wire run is negligibal (try and load up and pop a "spark plug" wire!). On a type 4, who knows, I am convinced as on my GSXR race bike a swap from stockers to hotwires with individual postive grounding and added capacitance showed a butt and real dyno gain (butt dyno felt stronger than the 2hp recorded)
Ya I know someone is gonna claim youll get better performance just by swapping new for old but 2HP?
(BTW they also happen to be one of my sponsors (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )

Spark plug wires are up there with replaceables like cap and rotor and plugs etc... Dont spend too much money. I like magnecore. The stock Bosch are good also. I fail to see how spending big bucks on "boutique" plug wires will yield any better results. But I also probably would not be able to tell the difference between normal copper speaker wire, and the ultra-expensive pure silver wire that audiophiles use, so what do I know? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I bought my magnecors from windward a couple years back, paid $129.

They are very good wires, if I had to do it again I would still buy magnecors. Made a huge improvrement in the way the engine ran, but that just tells me how bad the OEM wires were.

A couple of things:
I don't like the way the connector feels when it goes onto the dizzy cap, but they don't come loose so it aint a big deal.

The little round rubber seals that seal the cooling air from leaking out the valve covers are junk on the magnecors.
Mine kind of shriveled up and don't seal worth a darn. Not that big of a deal to me, but if your cooling is marginal it might be an issue.

Thanks, that looks like a good price on them...

Truthfully I didn't realize how much money they are... How do I repair my mistake for now. I thought I had a grip on the connector and I didn't I ended up pulling the wire out of the connector that goes to the cap. I twisted it back in, but not sure if I need to recut it or not, to get a good connection?
