Man, I thought that might come up.

I HATE AA, but these are AA flairs.

The bottoms are fit the same way the rest of the seams are fit... 914RS, curious why you TIG welded them on instead of MIG welding them on?

You have a kind of tactile, finite control when TIG welding that other types of welding can't match (IMHO). I did 100% of the welding on my car with a TIG. The quality of the welds is superb (largely the welder, not me).

Nice a TIG is the way to go if you got one. HTP is now selling a 110 TIG for about $500 not sure if it any good, but I thought about it for a TIG, it is the only way to weld tubing IMHO. And yes it works for everything. 914RS love your work, and love seeing the picts, it is insperational. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) java script:add_smilie(%22:worship:%22)

I've been curious about the HTP myself. I thought it was a bit more than $500 though. They advertise in the street rod magazine crowd.

This is VERY IMPORTANT when it comes to welders:

Buy quality! I've met a lot of guys that think welding is magic because they've only tried to use $500 machines and can't get good results.

I have about $1800 total in my Lincoln TIG PRO 175. Yes, It's more than three times as much as a cheapo box, but I can do almost anything with it, including aluminum.

Suck it up and buy a real welder.
