If all goes well in the morning, I will be trying out my new tranny and shift linkage. All that is left is final clutch adjustments, tie wrap my new speedo and clutch cable, put on the rear wheels, and put the battery back in. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif)

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, wouldn't be here without you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)

One final question. Since installing the new tranny, there is a very small leak by the passenger side axle. I am referring to where the CV flange meets the tranny. I wiped two hanging drops total today while working on the shift linkage. This tranny has been sitting on a dolly in my garage for the past 3 weeks without a drop. Yesterday I attached the CVs, could I have disturbed anything? Seal perhaps? The CVs went on without incident.

BTW: this tranny has about 6k miles since last rebuild. But was idle when I picked it up. Not sure for how long.

thx

I would only worry if they persist.

When you say "rebuilt", do you know what was done? Were all the seals replaced?

I knew someone would ask this. I am fairly tranny illiterate. I know the rebuild was more that just the syncros. But beyond that, I can only assume that the seals were replaced.

Guess I'll just keep an eye on it for now. And oh yes, even not running I can tell a huge difference in the shift pattern.

Happy shifting indeed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

JR,
Your lucky as the tranny guy just moved into your back yard (red-beard). It will probably be a nice tranny, though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
