I wrecked my first 914 after about a month of owning it. Here is my Second Chance. (Title fits with second chance to life as well
I bought this car for $500 in sequim WA. After towing, food, title, parts (mostly off of my wrecked car), I have about $1000 into it. Things Done: - Prepped and painted hood and fender (bondo on fender...it was a mess) - Troubleshoot f.i., ended up being cold start sensor and fuses! - Replace drivers seat hinges, as well as seats and interior from other car - Fix Shifter: Bushings, roll pin. - Go through electrical fuses and put together/fix left side. - Change wheels from wrecked parts car. - Misc. maint... - Put the whole thing back together...we had pics of what kind of wreck it was in when I bought it...unfortunately the pics got deleted accidentally. Thankyou all for your help!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) I couldn't have done it without this site. I wouldn't have even attempted it without this site. You have put another 914 back on the road and blessed me with the little car. Thankyou Here are some pics...forgive the bike...that's another piece of pride I put together... Attached image(s) |

Here is my first 914 I wrecked. Nice car...it didn't handle quite as well as the white one though.
My theme Second Chance represents my life...I screwed up wrecked my life (i.e. orange car) and ended up in jail...went through some hard times. Now I have been given a second chance. I am going back to college, and the future looks bright. It's great to be back in the game!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Thankyou God Attached image(s) |

A Gixer! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) 86 or 87? Love the gixers. I had a 90 750 and miss it like mad. But I doubt the wife would go for that... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Nice Job! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
Not what I pictured Walla Walla, WA to look like. Looks just like eastern Colorado or Kansas to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) |

86 1100...fun..fun Just got some new dunlops for it.
Yah...the pics don't give a very good representation of the valley. What you are seeing is the product of a lot of water. This time of year it's pretty dry...Hay field in back has been taken care of...and of course the nice blue mtns in back are cool. We are down wind from Hanford and the Umatilla Depot! Congrats on the car, and the new outlook. I am living proof that you can be what you want if you comit to achieving it.
I was the aimless drunk pampered college athlete until I invited my head coach to kiss my ass. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) Seemed like the right thing to do at the time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) After they yanked my scholarship, I found out what college really costs, and that I couldn't afford it. Wandered from crappy job to crappy jobfor a few years until I spent one summer working in hell, which was cleverly disguised as the 12 hr night shift in a metal heat treating factory. I wasn't jail, but in many ways it was worse. I finally heard the wake up call, made a plan to get back to school, and actually gave a damn this time. That was nearly 20 years ago, and I live a life now I couldn't have forseen in my wildest dreams. Go for it my friend. It is do-able with the right attitude. |

I don't know if it was in the classifieds...but his brother is on this site (forgot who?). The car sat in a garage for five years. He said his son drove it in the garage, took it apart and there it sat for five years. It has rust...but structurally is okay, or so I believe. There are some areas that does need patched. But for now it suits my college purposes perfectly. I got some extra weltmeister springs...I don't know what the rates are for them though? This car is a lot tighter than my other. Less body roll through corners, steering responsive. Plans for the future: - Fender wells stretched out (the smooth look) - Wheels and tires 9" rear 7" front - LS1 (with power adder)engine - ZF transaxle (?) - Dark Blue paint maybe with a signal orange stripe. - Interior matching paint. |
