Here's a list for a 901 from a 71 911 that I am converting to a side shift. I am also using the pull type clutch on it, so the clutch parts will be a little more expensive.

Transmission gasket set .....................................................................49.00
Syncro rings ( 5 @ 60.00 each) .............................................................300.00
Pinion Shaft Bearing for intermediate plate.................................................149.95
Main Shaft Bearing for intermediate plate...................................................203.00
Main Shaft Bearing for bellhousing end .....................................................139.95
Pinion Shaft Bearing for bellhousing end ...................................................199.00
Dog Teeth ( 5 @129.95 each) ................................................................649.75
1st/Reverse Slider .........................................................................479.95
2nd/3rd Slider ............................................................................245.00
4th/5ht Slider..............................................................................245.00
Differental Carrier Bearing ( 2 @ 30.00 each)................................................60.00
Guard Transmission Torque biasing differental .............................................1495.00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total for transmission rebuild ............................................................4215.60

Now we start adding the clutch parts. This is a 71 911 transmission, so it uses the pull type clutch from the 71. So we have to buy 2.2 clutch parts.

2.2 Clutch pivot Bolt (the factory one breaks easily, this is the upgrade) .................45.00 Spring Tab for clutch pivot bolt.............................................................8.95
Spacer washer for clutch pivot bolt..........................................................9.25
2.2 Clutch Disk ...........................................................................149.95
2.2 Pressure plate ........................................................................279.95
2.2 throwout bearing ......................................................................189.95
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total for clutch parts ....................................................................683.05

Now for the GRAND TOTAL!!!

..........................................................................................4898.65!!!

Can anyone hear my wallet screaming????????

Totaling this out makes me wonder if it's cheaper to buy a boxster 6 speed and install it.

LA Porsche lists a "Porsche 968 Boxster 6 speed trans $1500". If I buy all the parts including the shifter and cables, the conversion may be cheaper. And I get a 6 SPEED!!!
