After I got my 914 serviced this red light keeps coming on in the morning while it warms up. Its a "G" with a circle around it. But it doesnt stay on. The car drives fine.

What gives?

Thanks,

David

QUOTE(Jeff Bonanno @ Sep 17 2004, 12:34 PM)
hydrogen when oxidized (think boom) goes from H2 to 2H+ plus 2 electrons (which go on the oxygen of H20 post-boom)

think H+ (thus the 'positive' from the joke), or acid - the stuff which leaked out of our batteries 30years ago and ate the engine shelf...

Actually, I think the joke works because the hydrogen atom consists of one electron (-) circling a single proton (+), so if the one hydrogen atom had misplace his electron then he'd be 'positive'!

Which apparently is the reason the red "G" light is on...misplaced electrons!

(Had to work the topic in there somehow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) )

never mind these guys and all the nonsense. don't worry. your battery will be dead before you know it. so the light wasn't on, while running, before you took it to the mechanic? obviously, it ran too well. there weren't enough things wrong with your PORSCHE, i mean volkswagen, and there was no money to be made. let him know about the "not doing it before i brought it in issue".

It just means you have found your car's 'G' spot.
