It seems reasonable on a quick read-through. There were quite few 71s made, most 914-6es were 1970 model year. And the final assembly of the cars was indeed done at the Porsche factory, not at Karmann like the four-cylinder cars.

but the ? is are there 100+ more 6's out there than we thought there were?

and only 165 imported to the usa?
