Hey guys,

I’m starting to make a little progress here… I just started college at the University of Phoenix Online, so my free-time is shrinking. Anyway, I started by roughly cutting (with angle grinder with cutting wheel) the bottom middle section of the trunk floor, then I drilled out some of the spotwelds and got it all cleaned up and whatnot. Now I’m working towards the corners. There’s that bigass bracket in the corner that has to come out, right? What would be the best way to get that guy out of there? I can see that it’s spotwelded in there from the first picture… you can see the spotwelds through the outside of the tub.

It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get the spot-weld cutter I’ve been using in the corner area, and I don’t think I can get the grinder over there either.

I decided to use a small drill bit and attack those spot welds from the inside under there... Pretty slow going, but at least i'm getting somewhere. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Slow and steady. There's no quick way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I have grow an intense loathing for spot welds.

Those are great, thank you!

I finally found a place around here that sells sheet metal, so I got a good 3' x 5' sheet of 20 gauge to play with. Costed $40 and four hours of searching.
