I know this isn't a 914 question . . .
But I have a friend with a beetle whose transmission got stuck in 4th gear today, as in, I can't shift OUT of 4th. It's engaged, and the clutch clutches just fine, but we can't move the gear-shift lever out of 4th. |

I'm betting he is out of gear lube and cooked the tranny in 4th gear (I have done it)
