When we first picked got our '74 914 1.8 the fog lights worked upon initial inspection. Now, they don't.

When I pull the switch (key on, lowbeams on) the fog lights do not come on - but the switch lights up brightly. During inspection - I don't recall the switch lighting up - in fact, I didn't even know it did. Main concern was that the fog lights worked - which they did.

Question: is the switch suppose to light up when the lights work - or does it light up when the lights don't work? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

thanks!

Chris

It lights up when you turn the lights on.

So... High beam switched on? Or, relay?

Thanks Eric.

I know its not the highbeams - I was switching the turn signal stalk back & forth. The relay is next.

Ok - so anyone want to point me in the direction to where the relay is at?

I sure have alot to learn about these cars!

On the fuse panel. Remove the screws and drop it down.

You didn't mention it so I thought I would ask, did you check the fuse to see if it blown.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll pull out the fuse panel and check the relays.

Meoshe - yes, the fuse was the 1st thing I checked. It's fine.
