I'm quite sick because I have shingles.
It hurts like fuch, (I can barely wear a shirt) my left arm is numb, and I’m blistered all over my left shoulder, neck, ear, jaw line and chest. I'm on oxycocet for pain and some kind of anti-viral med. To top it off painkillers make me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif) Good thing the wife wasn’t with me, because the Doc said, “you got herpes”, if she was there I would have punched her in the head. Then he saw my face and said “NO-No not the STD (VD) kind…you have shingles.” It’s caused by left over virus, from having the chicken pox as a kid. I have to apologize to one of the members, as I’m most likely going to be quite late on his engine build. It takes 4 to 5 weeks to get over this and I don’t really want to build an engine racked with pain and stoned out of my head. I was thinking of posting a pic, but it’s quite gross, so maybe not. |

Mark,
I can feel for you, as I just got them in July of this year too! Mine were on my upper torso right under the bra line,(sorry guys no pictures!), and they wrapped around to my back. It was quiet painful, but I did get on the antiviral meds quickly, and I think it helped. As for the irritation with clothing, I would come home from work and put on a bathing suite top, all tied up so it wouldn't touch my skin, and let my "rash" get as much air as it could. I also slept with no pajama top ( again guys....no pics (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) ) The only bummer for me now is that I did get some scars from it! They aren't that bad, but it pisses me off that now I am scarred! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Hang in there, dude! Lisa (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

QUOTE(Mark Henry @ Sep 28 2004, 01:14 PM) This sucks...I'm too busy to be sick. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) As for the pain it's pretty intense. There is no cure other than time, the anti-viral just helps stop it from spreading. The Doc said creams don't help. At least give this a try... IVAREST. I would buy stock in that company that stuff is so damn good. Calamine is shit compared to this stuff. Best 4 bux you'll ever spend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Do your self a favor and take the time you need to heal. Work will have to wait. It will be there when your ready to get back to it. Stress just makes things worse.

Not very pretty....and the shingles are gross as well.
They don't show up that well with my POS digi-cam...I person there is actually flames coming off of the blisters....least it feels that way. Blisters are starting to pop now, nice. Attached image(s) |
