Getting ready to install a stock Bosch starter for the SHO project. I checked the distance from the mounting face on the starter to the top of the teeth and it's 35mm. The tranny mounting face to the rear face of the flywheel is 37mm - so I've got 2mm clearance.

I've searched around about starters, but no one seems to have posted the throw-out/engagement distance on the stock starter.

Anyone BTDT and got the numbes?
