The Blonds engine is this:
34mm Vent, 145 Mains, 180 Airs, 60 Idles, F3 ET The engine is 2.7l built with 2.2l heads modified to improve airflow, RS spec P&C, MFI S cams (the real "S", not the CIS "S"), Bosche "S" Mech adv distributor with 7200 rpm rotor. The engine seems to be running out of breath at 6000 rpm. Using the charts from "Weber Tech Manual" by Bob Tomlinson (Page 54), if I want to run up to 7200 rpm, I need 40mm vents. Others have suggested that I chart the max HP rpm, which is about 6200-6500rpm. Even with this, it seems I need 36-38 vents. What do you use as a reference for setting up carbs, or at least a starting point? BTW, the "equivalent" 4 cylinder engine would be 1800cc, long stroke, making about 140 hp at 6500 rpm. James |
