I have always wondered if a 914 had ever been entered. I tried looking it up on several PP history sites and never found one. This could be the first! Didn't Jeff Zwart run his 914-6 at Pikes Peak? I vaguely remember seeing a video on youtube of him in the 914, somewhere in-between the million other videos of him ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) I think that video of the 914/6 was a hillclimb "down under" |

Here's me attacking the 'real' Pikes Peak a few months back.... admittedly a bit slower than I would have liked in the uphill sections with my little 4 pot, but she gave it all she had (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaY8BZRGI7g |

Check it out, I found a picture of the 914 running Pikes Peak this year. Looks heavily modified with center seat. I would love to get more pictures/info on this car.

My friend Julian owns the Lister driven by Rick Knoop in the exhibition class.
It's qualifying at #9 . It's a purpose built club racer with n/a Chevy power. MacPhersons 914 is close, qualifying at #12 in the Pikes peak open class. Rick says he can squeeze a bit more out of the Lister. The car is also doing Bonneville this year. |

Driver Jeff MacPherson (Bozeman, Montana) is entered in the Pikes Peak Open Division and has strong credentials. He was 8th at the 1987 Indianapolis 500 won by Al Unser and won $117,000 for his top ten finish. MacPherson finished just ahead of Mario Andretti in the ’87 Indy 500. He’s driving a 1971 Porsche 914 on Pikes Peak this sumer.

Nice. Maybe I should enter my car....hmmm, it is all paved this year and I have a turbo! -Britain Do it! Every hillclimber's dream. Does you ECU compensation for altitude? I mean there are some dramatic altitude changes on that road. They start higher up than any of the hills we run on the West Coast. The mountain is 14,110 and they gain 4,721 feet during the 156-turn course, so the start is above 9.300 feet. No ECU compensator, no motor at the end. |

Looks like double a-arm front suspension. Does anyone know what engine is in it? I would love to see more pictures under the bodywork. The paint and bodywork looks amazing!

I would say 914 in appearance, just like John Force's car is Mustang in appearance.

More info on the car. Its LS6 powered with a G50/52 full tube chassis and C6 corvette suspension with Z06 rotors and calipers. Sheridan body and a real 914 windsheild frame and cowl with vin #. Jeff is a great guy and was really excited to put a car together for this hill climb. Glad to see he got it together in the nick of time. Had the race not been rescheduled he might not have made it. I have been checking on the results and have not seen anything on a time yet. Hope he does well.
