Looks like PPIHC just listed some more times and Jeff Macpherson in a 914 ran 11:55.2

Rick Knoop drove Julians Chevy powered Lister to 10:56.240 for 1st place in exhibition class.
Not too shabby. The regular use of the Lister is club road racing.

I have always wondered if a 914 had ever been entered. I tried looking it up on several PP history sites and never found one. This could be the first!

Didn't Jeff Zwart run his 914-6 at Pikes Peak?

I vaguely remember seeing a video on youtube of him in the 914, somewhere in-between the million other videos of him ...
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

I think that video of the 914/6 was a hillclimb "down under"

I know that one ...

But i vaguely remember seeing one of him driving his 914 at Pikes Peak.
Or could be my Alzheimer kicking in.

Would love to give that little hill a try in a 914. Here's me attacking the 'real' Pikes Peak a few months back.... admittedly a bit slower than I would have liked in the uphill sections with my little 4 pot, but she gave it all she had (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You are having way to much fun. No way that event would ever happen in California.

Would you let us run there if we shipped over?

At least it has a windshield and looks like a 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

I love the look.

Surprised this is just now getting posted.....

Jeremy is a top SCCA National Tour event driver from the Dallas area. I have seen that car up close in Blytheville 2 years ago. I know some people in LR that are close friends with this guy. Amazing that these two basically walked away from this off course ride!!! Second year in a row that a car has went off on that same corner I believe...

Found a short clip of Jeff's car going around a couple turns:

Check out the tail dragger at the end of the clip - WOW.

That 914 is low and wide! I liked the Freightliner hanging the rear out and laying some rubber! (rewind the video to 0:29 to see it). He needed more downforce. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Have these been posted yet? Paul Dallenbach's crash (stuck throttle) in a 1400 HP twin turbo unlimited car...

Dallenbach is OK. Some of those spectators should consider themselves lucky to alive.

Wow. There's no way I'd want to be standing anywhere near the road as a spectator.

Cool car and he was driving it about 7 tenths, which is about right for a new car on any hill.

I'd like to see Bill Cooper run PP. Pretty amazing driver that has the experience (and car) to go fast.
