I have notice my steering column bearings seem to be pretty worn. There seems to be a lot of up and down play in the steering column.

Just found this, looks like I need a new busing or the spring might be missing. Have to pull it apart and check.

I have a 75 /4 that had a lot of play in the collumn. I just fixed mine this past friday with a new bearing and installed a momo adapter and new wheel. I took detailed pics so I could post the steps since I couldn't find a step by step and my haynes was next to worthless. I'm not sure if the fix will be exactley the same for you since you have a 6. The pelican post looked like it was for 911s, my car had no spring, or that c sleeve shown in the Pelican 911 link.

here is the link I posted for replacing the bearing on a 914-4. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=182321

peace,
chuck
