Sorry, but with Multiple lines of Text, doing an actual Poll looked to be to difficult.
PLEASE keep this thread about TEXT for our Brick ONLY. 1) Proudly Supported by: www.914world.com The Largest PORSCHE 914 Community in the World (914club Logo) 2) Sponsored by: www.914world.com Mid-Engined Enthusiasts (914club Logo) 3) (914club Logo) Welcome to Laguna Seca www.914world.com Out-Handling the competition for 30yrs! Your ideas? While I do care what Text goes on our Brick, I don't care either, you know? I'm never going to be the smartest or most clever, so I will leave that up to the rest of you guys. Then again... IF we go with more than one brick, we'll need more than one Text. (duh) More info on the Bricks: http://www.laguna-seca.com/Scramp/Steps/ |

Thanks for heading up this project Scott.
What about payment? Paypal might be the easiest, but they charge a lot of fees on a bunch of small transactions. People sending you a check would ensure that all of the donations go to purchase the brick. On the SCRAMP web site they say that if we use a logo on a 12 x 12 brick we can have up to 5 lines of text. They also say each line can only have 15 letters. I think that only applies to 8" bricks. On a 12" brick we should be able to get about 22 letters per line. Here is my suggestion for what to say on our brick. 'middle' or the Greman equivalent 'mittle' ? 'maniacs' or 'mayhem' or 'madness' ?? Attached image(s) |

QUOTE(VegasRacer @ Oct 9 2004, 03:44 PM) Thanks for heading up this project Scott. What about payment? Paypal might be the easiest, but they charge a lot of fees on a bunch of small transactions. Here is my suggestion for what to say on our brick. 'middle' or the Greman equivalent 'mittle' ? 'maniacs' or 'mayhem' or 'madness' ?? 1) re the Payment, checks would be ok with me. So would PayPal though, however, I'd want people to 'send' an extra $1.00 to cover the fees, wouldn't that be fair? I mean the largest donation might be just $20, the paypal fee isn't going to be more than one dollar Over that, is it? 2) I'm not so sure about your suggestion (only my opionion John) with Middle Motor. I know what that is, but wouldn't Mid-Engined be better? Wouldn't more people get That instead? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

I would vote to keep it simpler:
Logo 914 www.914world.com (just like in vegas' image but without the slogan) |

How about something along the lines of racing heritage like:
Porsche 914 24 Stunden LeMans 1970 World Champion 914World.com |

Hi,
I like number two. Put me down for $20.00 and let me know where to send the money. It'll have to be a check. I don't do PayPal. I like this idea. Cheers, Elliot |

Figuring out what to say on the brick is tougher than I thought.
It seems like a 12 x 12 (the only one available with a logo) is our target. I am confident we can collect the necessary $500. I re-read all the fine print and these are our guidelines and restrictions.
*Limit of 15 characters per line. (This is the part that makes design difficult. I do like the LeMans ideas but it does not fit smoothly. I also like simple but since we can't use a large font we would just be getting a lot of dead space.) *All caps and centered. Both are similar - w/ or w/o spaces between the letters in Porsche. 4) WWW.914CLUB.COM MID-ENGINED P O R S C H E ENTHUSIASTS 5) WWW.914CLUB.COM MID-ENGINED PORSCHE ENTHUSIASTS " STEP ON IT " |

Vegas Racer,
I like your designs. Thanks for taking the time to do those. I like the bottom left. Kind of makes the www.914world.com stand out more. I dont like the "step on it" statement. We could replace that with "Get Out of the Way" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |
