Looking to buy Some Subaru conversion parts -- I need an engine/trans mount and the spool to convert AWD to FWD - and maybe the plate that replaces the rear output on the transmission.
I have looked and thought about this long and hard -- For $2500 I can gain 50 HP on my 2.0 or for about the same money I can gain 147 HP by installing the 3.0 Subaru six I have. My car is allready cut up beyond ever being back to stock so I am not ruining a car -- maybe just improving one ? My 2.0 runs really good - oil pressure is a little lower than I'd like and the oil cooler leaks but other than that pretty solid . The 3.0 would have more power , FI , and they are ultra smooth little engines - did I mention more HP ?? 247 HP to be exact. Let me know if you have or know of conversion parts ! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) But you could also buy direct from where he gets it. Company is located in Australia and they have a website. They offer the complete conversion to mid engine setup here http://www.subarugears.com/index_files/Products.html or you can just get this http://www.bremarauto.com/products/subaru-...conversion-kit/ and then do something about the flanges yourself. You'll need a shifter http://www.cableshift.com/ The conversions only works for the 5 speeds. I can't find one for the newest six speed but why would you want to? I've been trying to find a simple but effective Motor mount and tranny mount solution but I can't find one for the 914 yet. I know renegade has the motor mount but only available in their kit. Should be easy to find a shop to fab it but the Tranny mount has to be fabbed as well. I think two Ball Gimbles would be great for the Motor Mount so that all you really have to do is fab a solid tranny mount. |

Ian is doing some final touches on his cradle for a subaru motor. Look at my build thread or suby conversions and check out his stuff.
