Replace the plastic fuel lines with stainless steel. Keep an extinguisher in the car.

Check the rubber lines on a regular basis and replace them when needed.


Oh, and did I mention replacing the plastic fuel lines with stainless steel???

Use the correct fuel lines and clamps too. Inspect more often than you'd think.
